I'm A Little Backwards...

Notice that the last 6 months is all uphill...
Who is skinniest in the winter months (when we wear tons of layers to stay warm and hide our bodies) and fattest in the summer months (when we're prancing around in sundresses and bikinis)? You guessed it...this girl.

So, just like this time last year, I'm getting my weight loss/running butt (which is quite large at the moment) in gear again. It's like I took a 3 month carb/chocolate-load break. Oh well...we're back to the grind!

Last Wednesday I started running again, after a 6+ week break (in the middle of which I ran/walked/wallowed in misery through a half marathon). Good times. One of these days I learn that I can take breaks from running, even if it is 274598763 degrees in South Carolina.

Anywho, now that I've gotten used to rotation, I'm starting to run. Last week I ran once, and it was rough. 85-90 degree weather + being out of shape + hills of Clemson = Jess only running 1.5 miles before she need a break, then stopping for another walk break during the second 1.5 miles. Ick. I used to laugh at 3 miles and just skip them because I didn't feel like it was worth getting sweaty for a measly 30 minute run. HUMBLED. I only ran Wednesday because any eccentric use of my quads was pitiful and super painful/sore for the next 2-3 days. Boo.

Then Monday (yesterday), I was able to do 2 miles before needing a break, then ran another .85 miles, quick break and the last .15 miles. So, it's getting better! We'll see how the scheduled 3 miler goes tomorrow. Right now, I'm not even worrying about time...we'll cross that bridge when we get back to it.

And lets remember: CLEMSON HAS HILLS.

Also, fun new addition to my exercise routine: row machine. Jen has a rowing machine at the lakehouse, conveniently located about 10 steps from my bedroom. I just turned on an episode of Classic Doctor Who, rowed for about 20 minutes and burned 200 calories. BOOM!

So, that's enough of my rambling for the night. I'm anxious to see how sore my back and arms are going to be after not really working them out in years. Woo!

Morning weigh-in: 170.0 (ish...forgot to update it on LoseIt)

Next Monday's goal: 168.0

Workouts:
M - 3 miles
Tu - Row 20 minutes
W - 3 miles
Th - 3 miles (without stopping?)
F - Row 30 minutes
Sa - 4 miles
Su - Row/swim 30 min

Sometime this week: make a whole running schedule for the Savannah Half (because I'm lame and stopped running and will def not have time to train for the full:( )

Also, start looking for a winter-time FULL MARATHON!
